Walt Disney's The Lion King made its grand debut at the London Westend theatre in the year 1999 and still running with packed houses at the Lyceum theatre! Julie Taymor's epic and spectacualar production is a magnificent amalgamation of live action, puppetry and wonderful sets. The classic London musical has been adapted from Disney’s classic film of the same name.
The story of The Lion King is set against the African pride-lands. It revolves around young Simba and his struggles to reclaim his kingdom back from his evil uncle Scar. Scar wants to get rid of his brother and his family to be the King. To be the King of Pride Rock, he conspires against his brother’s family.
The Lion King is undoubtedly one of the most loved shows and features some great relationship such as between Nala and the lion cub. Simba also forms great bonding with new friends Timon and Pumba.
